Most visitors come to enjoy the peace and natural beauty of the area. The climate provides an average of 300 days of sunshine a year, with hot summers and mild winters. Annual average rainfall is 37 inches, and frost dates usually fall between November 20 and March 2, although Texas weather is notoriously variable.
Wimberley has been a retreat for artists, musicians and writers for many years, and hosts the most popular Market Day in the area. From April through December, Wimberley Market Days bring visitors from all over the country every first Saturday of the month to the 450 plus booths of art and wares.
You can tour Bella Vista Ranch the only commercially producing olive grove and olive mill in the Hill Country. Winery, tasting room, and gift shop offer hand-crafted gourmet foods, wines, oil, and jams.
Summer attracts vacationers to this escape from the bustle of the city, with music festivals, river and water activities, art shows, shopping, and local dining.
